Hello and welcome to, whalenfineart.ca, the official website for the artwork of Shawn Whalen.
Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Shawn Whalen, a Canadian artist and throughout this website I will be guiding you through a tour of my work and gallery.
This site is to be used to allow for a more direct link to you, the art buyer, viewer, or even artists out there, who enjoy seeing what other artists are up to as much as I do. I have always enjoyed meeting people and discussing the world of art with them. I feel that this gives me a better understanding of how people perceive artists and their work, while at the same time giving patrons of the arts some insight as to how we artists live.
Although one must occasionally view art from a business perspective, it all comes down to one person, the artist, in the studio alone with his/her thoughts and ideas, while striving to produce the quality of work one feels one can. The production of art prints, in various forms, allows for a greater number of people to enjoy my work, and gives me the privilege of continuing the visual exploration of the world around us, through paint and canvas.
If you have never seen my paintings before, I hope I can bring some good memories back for you; maybe remind you of a lake you once fished on, the farmhouse you wished you owned, or perhaps that one spring walk in the woods to see the trilliums and returning wildlife, after a long cold winter. To those of you who have seen my work before, I hope you will continue to enjoy it!
In the upcoming days and weeks I will be expanding the site to include extensive artwork, painting tutorials and demonstrations, as well as digital images of work in progress as they develop. So, be sure to return occasionally to see what’s new!
